In the context of its environmental and hygiene services, AIB Srl offers an innovative system for the sterilization of potentially infected hospital waste (cod. CER 180103 and 180202), as required by Italian Presidential Decree 254/2003 through the use of systems that allow a noteworthy reduction in the costs of disposal.
In fact, the sterilization allows the declassification of hospital waste to urban waste (code CER 200103) or RDF (code CER 191210) which has disposal costs 10 to 15 times lower.
The sterilization eliminates the presence of all the pathogenic organisms, including viruses and spore producing bacteria, that reduces the weight and volume of the waste until it is transformed into an unrecognizable product that can be used as fuel with a huge advantage for the economy and the environment.
THE TECHNOLOGIES
All the technologies selected by AIB Srl are based on 3 different processes:
through a mechanical process
through an autoclave
through microwaves
ENGINEERING SYSTEMS SOLUTIONS
Authorized treatment centres
At the waste collection and treatment platforms AIB Srl can promote the installation of systems that can treat from 500 to 1,000 kg/hour per line of potentially infected lines of waste. These installations require specific authorizations. AIB has promoted and followed the installation of a system of 550 kg/h from the Neuweiler AG at the waste platform at Abbiategrasso by providing the client with the financing of the complete system by an international credit institute.
LÜNEN SYSTEM (GERMANY)
LÜNEN SYSTEM (GERMANY)
ABBIATEGRASSO SYSTEM (ITALY)
Hospitals and clinics, residential healthcare centres, laboratories
In these cases, the potential of the sterilization systems can vary from 5 kg/h to 150 kg/h for each single piece of equipment.
The installation of sterilization systems on these structures does not require specific authorizations.
These are machines of limited bulk that are easy to place and require only electrical and plumbing connection.
